Morningstar’s superior series switching provides many advantages compared to shunt controllers. Series regulation reduces FET heating and lowers voltage stress on the power FET’s. A series configuration also improves protection against lightning surges and reduces switching noise. The series design improves charging accuracy. In PWM, series switching becomes self-correcting for temperature and system voltage drops. May be paralled up to 300 amps.
Morningstar ProStar 15 Amp Solar Charge Controller
Without Meter
Morningstar’s ProStar is the world’s leading mid-range solar controller for both professional and consumer applications.
This is the 2nd generation of the ProStar charge controller, introduced in 2007.
The Morningstar ProStar 15 amp solar charge controllers includes several different versions for various voltages, current ranges, and system configuration.
- Version Types:
- PS-15: 12 and 24 volt 15 amp max without digital meter.
- PS-15M: 12 and 24 volt 15 amp max with digital meter.
- PS-15M-48: 48 Volt only with digital meter. 48 volt version is not available without meter.
- PS-15M-48-PG: Special purpose controller for installations such as telecom and cathodic protection systems that require a positive ground. Special order item, 1-2 weeks.
- Options Available:
- RTS: Remote battery temperature sensor. Recommended where the battery temperature may be more than 10 degrees different from where the controller is mounted.
